Two Taiwanese suspects sent backPolice in South China's Guangdong Province sent two Taiwanese criminal suspects at large back to the island on Friday, said the Ministry of Public Security yesterday. The two Taiwanese suspects, Chen Kuanxin and Zhang Qisheng, were seized by Guangdong police in September and November respectively, according to a statement released by the ministry yesterday. On September 26, police in Guangdong nabbed Chen who had been suspected of securities forgery in Taiwan and theft in Guangdong. In November, police in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions co-launched a special campaign with the aim to combat cross-border crimes. In the campaign, Guangdong police seized Taiwan resident Zhang in Zhuhai, who was accused of defrauding and threatening business people from the island. Prior to Zhang's seizure in the mainland, authorities in Taiwan had given him punishment for his involvement in crimes, including corruption, possession of weapons, domestic violence, cheating, theft and causing physical injury to others. Zhang, 42, fled to Guangdong in September this year after he and his accomplices were alleged to have committed robberies in Taiwan. Source: China Daily |
