Cambodian National Assembly President Prince Norodom Ranariddh on Tuesday appealed to strengthening the cooperation and culture exchange between Cambodia and China to further promote the traditional friendship of the two countries.

The Prince made the remarks during meeting with visiting delegation of world-known Chinese artists.

Ranariddh said that culture exchange is one of the important parts of the relations between the two countries. He believes that the paintings made here by Chinese artists will make more Chinese people know the Kingdom of Cambodia as well as the world well- known Angkor Wat temples.

Aiming at culture exchange, charity and life painting, the delegation of 20 famous Chinese artists and 12 other people has paid eight-day visit and life painting to Cambodia at the invitation of Co-Ministers of Interior Prince Norodom Sirivudh.

Sirivudh highly valued the artists' Angkor peace tour and awarded them the Royal Culture Medals and the Angkor Culture Medals during his meeting with the artists.

During their stay, the artists visited world cultural heritage - -Angkor Wat temples, and had life paintings there.

As a high-profile culture exchange event between China and Cambodia, the tour, called Angkor-Royal Visit, demonstrates enthusiasm and appreciation of Chinese artists to famous cultural heritage around the world and expects to enhance the traditional friendship of the two countries.

After the visit, some of the works artists make during the tour will be exhibited, and published in picture album, and some of the works will be put under hammer with half of the money from the auction to be donated to Angkor Wat protection foundation.
