Chinese premier meets Zambian vice president

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met in Beijing Tuesday with Lupando Augustine Festus Mwape, vice president of the Republic of Zambia.

Wen and Mwape held friendly talks on improving China-Zambia traditional friendship and bilateral trade, sources with the Foreign Ministry said.

Mwape is visiting China at the invitation of Chinese Vice-President Zeng Qinghong.

After meeting with Wen, Mwape held talks with Zeng. The two countries signed several cooperative documents following the talks of the two vice-presidents.

Before coming to Beijing, he visited Shenzhen and Guangzhou cities in south China's Guangdong Province and the business hub of Shanghai in east China.
