Benjamin Raich of Austria won the Men's World Cup giant slalom in Slovenia's Kranjska Gora on Wednesday, repeating his success last year, said reports reaching from Slovenia.

Raich finished a full second ahead of Italian Massimiliano Blardone and 1.15 seconds ahead of Canadian Thomas Grandi, the Slovene Press Agency reported.

Two-time winner of the Kranjska Gora giant slalom and the current leader in the overall World Cup standings Bode Miller failed to finish the second run.

Raich was in the lead after the first run of the World Cup giant slalom in Kranjska Gora. He finished in a time of 1:10.46, 0.27 seconds ahead of compatriot Hermann Maier. US skier Daron Rahlves is third, 0.96 seconds adrift.
