font size

The police of the Chinese mainland and the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) are to step up mutual cooperation, according to the office of the Secretary for Security in Macao Wednesday.

The office said in a press release that a delegation headed by Chen Minzhi, Assistant Minister of Public Security, held a one-day meeting Wednesday with Macao's representatives from the concerned authorities, led by Chuong Kuoc Va, Secretary for Security.

The two sides briefed each other on the recent security situation in the Chinese mainland and Macao.

The two sides reviewed the progress of the mutual cooperation in sectors of communication and intelligence exchange. They also discussed cooperation in tackling cross-border crimes, robbery and grift, it said.

The mainland and Macao police have inked a package of cooperation deals since May, 2004.
