Chinese top leaders visited an exhibition featuring the development of a conservation-minded society in Beijing on late Wednesday.

Saving the resources - including the land, water, and minerals - is a basic policy of China and of great significance to the sustainable development in China, said Chinese president Hu Jintao.

The top legislator Wu Bangguo called on to improve the production technology in factories to reduce the resource guzzling.

Chinese premier Wen Jiabao stressed the responsibility of the entire society for the nation and the offspring to build up a conservation-minded society.

Other top leaders, including Jia Qinglin, Zeng Qinghong, Huang Ju, Wu Guanzheng and Li Changchun also visited the exhibition respectively.
