font size

Singapore's consumer price index (CPI) rose by 1 percent in November over the same month of last year, according to the figures released by the Singapore Department of Statistics (SDS) on Friday.

The price index for recreation increased by 2.8 percent in November from a year ago while that for education and stationery rose by 2.2 percent in the same month.

The CPI for housing grew by 2.1 percent in the eleventh month of this year and the indices for food and health care rose by 0.8 percent both.

The clothing and footware price index grew by 1.5 percent in November, while the CPI for transport and communication continued to drop by 1.9 percent in the same month due to lower car prices and cheaper petrol.

The CPI for the first eleven months of this year rose by 0.4 percent over the same period of 2004.
