Macedonian President Branko Crvenkovski said the final status of Kosovo shouldn't violate the regional borders, according to reports by Macedonian news agency.
Crvenkovski stated Macedonia shares borders with Kosovo and that the peace and stability in Kosovo is in the interests of Macedonia, the report said.
The president said he welcomed the start of the final status talks on Kosovo, and that Macedonia would accept whatever agreements Belgrade and Pristina would reach under the auspices of the international community.
But he also pointed out that no matter what kind of final status Kosovo would be granted, it shouldn't lead to borders' changes, otherwise it would encroach on Macedonia's territorial integrity and national sovereignty.
He said that before the status talks are granted, the border between Macedonia and Kosovo should be established.
