Chinese, Japanese cities to enhance cooperation in logistics
font size

The port city of Yantai, in east China's Shandong province, has signed an agreement with the Japanese city of Kitakyushu, in a bid to enhance cooperation in shipping and logistics between the two cities.

According to the agreement, the two cities will join hands to attract sea routes investments, to promote the cargo and passenger transportation, and to grant favorable policies to logistic companies from the partner city.

In addition, the two cities will conduct research and analysis jointly to work out plans on how to make efficient use of the ports.

The two cities expressed their wish to cooperation in the Republic of Korean city Incheon this July and the agreement signified a significant step forward in the area of logistics, said the Yantai government.

Kitakyushu is a major port in Western Japan, also the international distribution base to Asia and around the world. It signed a shipping cooperation agreement with north China's port city of Tianjin in November.
