China's inbound tourism keeps increasing

The number of inbound tourists to China reached 9.90 million in November, up 5.94 percent from a year earlier, according to an official with the state tourism administration on Saturday.

In November, the number of inbound tourists from most continents, except the other parts of Asia, grew. Visitors from Britain grew 20.43 percent, Canadians visiting here increased 19.61 percent and the number of tourists from the United States rose 19.25 percent.

China reaped a foreign exchange revenue of 2.42 billion U.S. dollars from the inbound tourists, up 3.86 percent year on year. Overnight visitors spent 2.20 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 90.79 percent of China's overall tourism revenue.

From January to November, the number of inbound tourists totaled 110 million, 11.4 percent more than in the same period last year. Foreign exchange revenue for the period reached 26.98 billion U.S. dollars, a rise of 14.8 percent.
