More Sri Lankan flights to MaldivesSriLankan airlines will increase their frequency to the Maldives from Dec. 29, 2005, increasing their weekly flights to 23, Daily News said Saturday. Manager of SriLankan airlines Milinda Balasuriya said the airline would be introducing a Male stop over in their Tokyo flight every Wednesday and Sunday. He said that they wanted to enhance the product and that this was the reason for them to introduce the additional two flights. There is a demand from both the Japanese and the Maldivian travelers for SriLankan flights. In addition, expatriates based in the Male too travel to Colombo to take connecting flights to India and other destinations, he added. With the passenger traffic and cargo picking up their financial performance too would improve, Balasuriya said, adding, "We are expecting at last a 30 percent increase for the year." Source: Xinhua |
