35 injured in bus accident in western Nepal

More than 35 people were injured in a bus accident in western Nepal Saturday evening, local police office said Sunday.

"More than 34 students and a teacher were injured when a bus skidded off the road at Dhikur Pokhari village of Kaski district, some 200 km west of Kathmandu," District Police Office said in a press statement.

The accident occurred when the bus, carrying picnicking students from Aarukharka Mahendra Secondary School of neighboring Shyangha district, skidded 50 meters down from the local Bhupi Sherchan Highway, the statement said.

All of the injured are undergoing treatment at Western Regional Hospital of Pokhara city in the district, the statement noted, adding two injured students are in critical conditions while other victims are out of danger.
