Malaysian Qualification Agency to begin monitoring education on Jan. 1
font size

The Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) will start its operation on Jan. 1 to monitor the education quality in this country, a senior official said Saturday.

The MQA will establish guidelines in accordance with the Malaysian Qualification Framework (MQF) for every qualification and curriculum development, quality assurance process and accreditation for every course, Minister of Higher Education Shafie Salleh told reporters here.

The MQA is a merger of the National Accreditation Board and the Quality Assurance Division in the ministry.

Shafie said that the MQF quality would encourage lifelong education and enable people to apply to further studies at institutions of higher learning without having to submit academic qualifications.
