Beijing to implement National III emission standards for vehicles
font size

Beijing will officially put into practice the third-stage emission standards (National III standards) or equivalent to Europe III for light gas- and fuel-engine vehicles and heavy-duty diesel-and gas-engines autos starting from December 30 this year, reports the overseas edition of People's Daily on Monday.

Vehicles reaching the emission standards can reduce more than 50 per cent pollutant discharges than those of National II standards, according to Pei Chenghu, Vice Director of Beijing Environmental Protection Bureau
