Ad firms now can be wholly foreign-funded

Foreign advertisement firms can establish their sole investment ad firms in China as of December 10 this year, according to China's promise upon its entry into the World Trade Organization, said Qu Jianmin, director of the department of advertisement supervision & administration under the State Administration of Industry and Commerce, at the China International Week of Television Advertisement Art held on Dec.24.

Qu Jianmin said that for the present, foreign advertisement companies are engaged in the mergers and acquisitions in China with of their funds and brand superiority. As a result, they have pocketed many medium and small ad firms with a further degree of concentration in the country's ad sector.
