CAAC to add 142 more passenger planes next year

General Administration of Civil Aviation (CAAC), vowing to maintain the good momentum of rapid development next year, will add 142 more new passenger planes, and appropriately direct to the western areas of the country in terms of airport construction as well as branch aviation.

Yang Yuanyuan, director with CAAC said on Dec. 26 that the overall scale of fixed assets investment of China's civil aviation next year is expected to reach 26 billion yuan. According to the perspective index, the overall transport turnover of national aviation industry is set at 29.5 billion tons/km, volume of passenger traffic 159 million, as well as cargos and mails 3.36 million tons, recording an annual increase of 13 percent, 15 percent and 10 percent respectively.

Yang also said that CAAC will give more support to the country's west and northeast, speeding up the development of air transport, air cargo transport, branch aviation as well as general aviation there.

CAAC will continue to soften its policy on market access, encourage investment in civil aviation industry as well as guide and encourage newly built air companies to run branch, cargo and general aviation. Meanwhile, CAAC also urges air companies to open air routes linking China with Latin America, east America, Caribbean region, west Asia, Middle East as well as Africa.
