Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi outlined in Beijing on Tuesday the major jobs the organizing committee of the Shanghai 2010 World Expo should accomplish in the near future.
With the theme of "Better City, Better Life," the expo will be held from May 1 to Oct. 31, 2010, and is expected to attract the participation of some 200 countries and international organizations, as well as nearly 70 million visitors.
The organizing committee should work actively to absorb and pool wisdom and strength from various circles of life, said Wu at a committee meeting in Beijing.
"The exhibition halls should be designed at high standards and the construction of the infrastructure and the expo halls should be conducted carefully," said Wu, head of the organizing committee.
She also urged the committee to further promote the expo worldwide so as to attract more participants.
