Greek stocks close higher, hitting new five-year high

The Athens share index posted a new five-year high to close at 3,658.17 points on Tuesday, up 1.72 percent.

The turnover was 189.2 million euros (226.1 million U.S. dollars).

The FTSE/ASE-20 index for high capitalization shares ended 1.52 percent higher, while the FTSE/ASE-40 for medium cap stocks and the FTSE/ASE-80 for small cap shares rose 1.92 percent and 5.00 percent respectively.

Of the stocks traded, advances led declines at 237 to 56 with 37 remaining unchanged.
