font size

A chamber of international commerce was set up Wednesday in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province in a bid to strengthen the province's economic and trade links with the world and promote Sichuan's development.

The Sichuan Chamber of International Commerce (SCCOIC) is a non-governmental and non-profit trade organization formed by corporations and social groups that are engaged in international trade and related activities.

SCCOIC is supervised by the Sichuan branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and also by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Civil Affairs.

Chengdu was chosen to be the site of SCCOIC at the launching conference Wednesday.

Xiang Yuming, president of CCPIT Sichuan branch, was elected SCCOIC president at the conference.
