The 2006 Hangzhou World Leisure Expo will receive 15 million domestic visitors and 1 million from overseas, according to a working conference of east China's Zhejiang Provincial Tourism Bureau.
The expo, scheduled from April 22 to October 22, will hold a variety of events including exhibitions, conferences, arts and sports activities and tourism projects.
The Ninth World Leisure Congress and the First World Leisure Summit will be held during the expo.
Many other activities, such as the World Leisure Products Expo, Leisure Education and Training Programs, the West Lake International Fireworks Show, the World Leisure Expo Garden Exhibition and West Lake Carnival, will also add variety to the expo.
The organizers have provided 20 sight-seeing routes for visitors and invited 100 tourism cities to set up their exhibition booths at the expo.
The events will also be held in six cities and counties near Hangzhou. They are Zhejiang's Anji, Zhuji, Fuyang, Jiande and Tonglu and Jiangsu's Suzhou.
Jointly sponsored by the World Leisure Organization, China National Tourism Administration, General Administration of Sports, P.R.C., Zhejiang provincial government and All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce, the expo will be the first of its kind with an international theme.
