Chinese top political advisor calls for good work next year

Jia Qinglin, head of China's top political advisory body, on Wednesday urged members of the organization to actively present ideas and suggestions on the country's development in the coming year.

Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said that the CPPCC should concretely perform its functions of political consultation, democratic supervision and participation in the deliberation and administration of state affairs.

The CPPCC should also further improve its capability in performing its functions, said Jia, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
