China's home-made helicopter for police

China will have an air police force with some 60 helicopters during the 11th Five-year Plan Period (2006-2010).

Experts from the Air Force, the Ministry of Public Security and other departments concerned have concluded that the research program on China police helicopter fleet is domestically advanced and theoretically lays a good foundation for the development of helicopters for police.

The program started in 2003. Taking an independent police helicopter fleet as the subject, the research involves plane purchase, airport construction, personnel, airspace use, management and budget.
