Beijing's government purchase to top 17 bln yuan by 2010

The Beijing Municipal government will continue to expand its purchase scale with the volume to reach 17 billion yuan (2.1 billion U.S. dollars) by 2010.

Wu Shixiong, director of the municipal financial bureau, said here Thursday that the government will expand the purchase scope in the next few years while raising the purchase efficiency.

The official said the government purchase is expected to top 10 billion yuan (1.2 billion U.S. dollars) by the end of 2005, 1.4 billion yuan (172,626 U.S. dollars) more than the quota set at the beginning of this year.
