Taiwan's trade administration released the cross-strait trade figures on Dec. 28 and predicated that Taiwan would enjoy at least 30 billion USD surplus in its trade with the Chinese mainland for the whole year of 2005.
Taiwan media said the trade administration there unveiled that Taiwan's exports to the mainland soared by 25.5 percent in October, the most notable growth for a single month this year. Its trade surplus with the mainland raised in October created a new month record in years.
According to an analysis by Taiwan officials with the trade authority, Taiwan's exports to the mainland were mainly from the petrochemical, plastic and iron and steel industries over the first half of the year while the exports for the second half were mainly made by businesses in electronics, liquid crystal panel, LED and printing circuit
