The 2006 Anhui Investment & Trade Expo will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center in mid May, 2006, according to the organizers.

Politicians and businessmen in the region, including Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Chief Executive Donald Tsang, will be invited to attend the expo, said an official with the organizing committee.

Launched by the Anhui provincial government, the expo will serve as a platform for cooperation between traders from Anhui, other provinces of China and overseas, said the official.

The expo will highlight projects in the fields of infrastructure construction, state property restructuring, tourism and culture, and overseas listing.

The expo will also open forums on human resource exchange, state property restructuring, the development of China's tourism products and overseas listing.

A special job fair will be held during the expo in a bid to promote the human resource exchange between Anhui and Hong Kong, according to the organizers.

The expo will be the top level event of its kind organized by the province. It is supported by the Ministry of Commerce and co-sponsored by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce of Hong Kong, Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce and China Resources (Holdings) Co. Ltd..
