China-Pakistan nuclear energy cooperation is for peaceful purpose, FM spokesman
font size

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang said at a regular press conference Thursday that the nuclear energy cooperation between China and Pakistan is "absolutely for peaceful purpose."

Qin made the remark when asked about the claimed purchase of Chinese nuclear reactor by Pakistan.

Qin said a spokesman for Pakistan's foreign affairs ministry has denied such a report.

He said that China-Pakistan nuclear energy cooperation is supervised by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and is not against China's obligation to the international community.
