China's capital Beijing reported an estimated total of 83.84 billion yuan (10.3 billion U.S. dollars) in tax revenue in 2005, a growth of 16.8 percent over the previous year, the municipal taxation authorities announced on Friday.

Among them, business tax, personal income tax, enterprise income tax and deed tax were the leading four categories.

Latest data released by Beijing Taxation Bureau showed that the four items made up 71.55 billion yuan (8.8 billion U.S. dollars), or 85.3 percent, of the total tax revenue.

In breakdown, the business tax amounted to 38.38 billion yuan (4.7 billion U.S. dollars), an increase of 5.06 billion yuan (623.9 million U.S. dollars), or 15.2 percent, over the year-earlier level.

The personal income tax stood at 19.18 billion yuan (2.4 billion U.S. dollars), up 2.87 billion yuan (353.9 million U.S. dollars), or 17.6 percent, from the previous-year level.

The enterprise income tax reached 7.92 billion yuan (976.6 million U.S. dollars), 1.27 billion yuan (156.6 million U.S. dollars), or 19 percent, more than the year-ago level.
