Former Nigerian star player confident of Zambian soccer team in Africa Cup
font size

Former Nigerian star player Daniel Amokachi believed Zambia will be a revelation at Africa Cup finals to be held in Egypt this month,, according to the Post.

Amokachi, one of the African stars at the 1994 World Cup and Africa Cup finals, said Zambia can cause upsets in Egypt.

The local newspaper quoted the 1996 Olympic Games gold medalist as saying that the southern African country are capable of reaching the finals of Africa Cup.

"Zambia are still underdogs in African football but going by the way they performed in the qualifiers, I think they will push things a bit," he said.

They are not a team one can underrate, he added.

However, now an assistant coach of the Super Eagle, Amokachi did not want to rule out Nigeria chances in Egypt.
