Bolstered by China's strategy of boosting foreign trade through science and technology, China's export of high-tech products with proprietary brands was estimated at over 20 billion U.S. dollars in 2005, the Ministry of Commerce said Monday.
The export volume of China's 25 export bases of high-tech products was about 80 billion U.S. dollars during 2005, and the country had 300 enterprises whose export volume exceeded 100 million dollars , the ministry said.
In 2005, the Chinese government enhanced efforts to boost the export of software and medical products. Those products reached 3.5 billion dollars and 16 billion dollars respectively in 2005, the ministry said.
In 2005, the ministry held a series of high-tech trade fairs to promote deals in this area, including a high-tech fair in southern Shenzhen City, an electronic product expo in eastern Suzhou City, a software fair in northeastern Dalian City and a high and new-technology fair in Sydney, Australia.
