Taiwan's export to mainland sets new high
font size

News from Taipei on Jan. 10 said that export from Taiwan to the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong last year recorded 71.608 billion US dollars, and import 21.815 billion US dollars, achieving a favourable trade balance of 49.793 billion US dollars and setting a historic new high.

Statistics on import and export through the customs in December last year released by Taiwan authorities show that the proportion of Taiwan's two-way trade with the mainland and Hong Kong in December last year has also yielded an all-time high. In particular, the volume of export from Taiwan to mainland accounted for nearly 40 percent of its total export.
