A senior Chinese diplomat said on Thursday in Beijing that China will not interfere in African countries' internal affairs.
Lu Guozeng, assistant foreign minister made the remarks at a press briefing introducing China's first policy paper on Africa.
"We support African countries to resolve domestic problems with their own efforts," Lu said when asked about cooperation with some "un-popular" African regimes.
China hopes that African countries can maintain stability and extend cooperation with other countries in a bid to create a sound international environment for their development.
China will establish and develop a new type of strategic partnership with Africa, Lu said, noting it will be featured with political equality and mutual trust, economic win-win cooperation and cultural exchange.
He stressed that China's economic aid to African countries is never attached with political conditions.
