Intel announced in Beijing Thursday to establish "Intel platform application innovation alliance" along with 22 Chinese manufactures in computing, communications and consumer electronics industries including TCL, Haier and Founder in a bid to develop new products together. But China's leading PC maker Lenovo does not join the alliance.
The alliance is focused on domestic enterprises operating in Chinese mainland only. Lenovo, after acquiring IBM's PC sector, has transformed to an international PC maker. This is the reason why Lenovo does not join the program, according to a manager of Intel. Intel then firmly denied rumors saying there is estrangement between Lenovo and Intel.
