    Two people were killed Saturday in a chain of motor vehicle collisions on express highway linking Beijing and Shenyang, capital city of northeast China's Liaoning Province.

    2006 postgraduate entrance exam opens

    Thousands of students are crowding into the exam rooms of Hainan University in Haikou, capital of south China's Hainan Province saturday to sit in the 2006 entrance exam. The two-day entrance exam kicks off on Junuary 14, and ends on January 15 throughout the country.

    Mine blast in Romania kills at Least 7

    The mother of one of the seven miners killed in a blast at a mine in western Romania cries at the entrance of the mine in Anina Jan. 14. Seven miners were killed and five more injured in a mine gas explosion Saturday in southwest Romania, the official news agency Rompres reported.

    More Taiwan businesses welcomed to mainland
