China's catering industry in China has experienced rapid and stable growth in 2005 as the major force in prompting the fast development of demand for consumption.

The retail rates of catering industry last year will hopefully hit 880.6 billion yuan, setting a 16.8 percent increase from the previous year and realizing a double-digit growth for 15 consecutive years.

Data shows that per capita consumption on catering reached 677 yuan for the whole year, 101 yuan more than that in 2004, a year-on-year increase of 17.6 percent.
