China to levy anti-dumping tax on chemical imports from Japan, US, Britain, Germany
font size

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced that it will levy anti-dumping tax starting from Monday on a chemical for making silicon polymer imported from Japan, the United States, Britain and Germany.

According to a final ruling, importers of this chemical from the above four countries should pay anti-dumping tax in the coming five years with rates varying between 13 percent and 22 percent.

The ruling of the Ministry says the four countries are unfairly selling the dimethyl cyclosiloxane chemical to the Chinese market.

The ministry began its anti-dumping investigation against this imported chemical widely used in the industries of construction, electron, textile, automobile, food and machine on July 16, 2004.

The ministry once launched temporary anti-dumping measure against this imported chemical beginning on September 29, 2005, based on its preliminary investigation result.
