Ten more countries have confirmed their participation in this year's Kilimanjaro marathon race to be held on February 26 in northern Tanzania.

These countries include Belgium, Canada, Kenya, the Netherlands, Poland, Rwanda, Sweden, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe, according to race organizers.

Australia, Britain, Germany, South Africa and the United States earlier confirmed their participation in the annual event held at an average altitude of 1,800 meters above sea level around the base of Africa's highest mountain peak of Kilimanjaro.

Some 300 foreign runners took part in last year's Kilimanjaro marathon race which Kenyan runners Tubei John Chirchir and Roberi Komen finished a one-two in two hours 20 minutes 23 seconds and 2:20:48 respectively.
