font size

Four people were killed and 15 houses damaged when a transmission tower of TV station in a residential complex of legislators in Kelapa Dua area, Kebun Jeruk sub-district, West Jakarta, collapsed on Monday afternoon.

Other victims might still be buried under debris of the collapsed tower because some workers were working when the tower collapsed, Antara news agency reported on Tuesday.

The causes of the collapse is still under investigation. At the time the accident happened, it was raining heavily with strong winds.

According to Chief of the TV transmitter section Teguh Diono, the newly-built 104-meter-tall tower was to support a similar structure in Buana Gardinia.
