New industrial orders in the euro- zone grew by 4.9 percent in November last year compared to the previous month, the European Union (EU)'s statistics office said Tuesday.
This came after a 0.6 percent decline in October and a 1.7 percent increase in September in the 12 countries using the single currency, the Eurostat said.
The Eurostat estimated that month-on-month the new orders in the 25 EU countries rose by 3.4 percent in November, after zero growth in October and a 0.6 percent rise in September.
Year-on-year, new industrial orders increased by 9.2 percent in the euro-zone and by 9.3 percent in the EU-25.
Compared to October last year, new orders for transport equipment grew by 10.6 percent in the euro-zone in November, while manufacturing of electrical and electronic equipment increased by 3.8 percent and chemicals and chemical products gained 2.5 percent.
France recorded the highest rise among the 12 euro-zone countries, with a 20.4 percent hike of industrial order in November, followed by Ireland at 10.8 percent. Germany, the biggest economy in Europe, only registered a 1.4 percent growth in new orders.
