Afghanistan's president Hamid Karzai has termed the double bomb explosions in the southwestern city of Ahwaz, Iran, an act of terrorism and strongly condemned it, a presidency statement said Wednesday.
"The government and people of Afghanistan besides condemning the coward attacks, share the sadness and grievance of the brotherly nation of Iran," it said.
Afghan President also extended his condolences to families of the victims.
In the twin explosions rocked Ahwas Tuesday, according to Iran's media, eight people were killed and some 40 others injured.
Tehran reportedly has accused Britain of the involvement in the bloody incident.
Iranian foreign minister Monuchehr Mutaki, according to media report, told journalists in Tehran Wednesday that Britain played a role in the double attacks.
Relations between Afghanistan and its neighboring country Iran, the two Asian Persian speaking nations, have been strengthening since the collapse of Taliban regime four years ago.
