US President George W. Bush says he looks forward to the upcoming visit from Chinese President Hu Jintao.
Bush says that although Sino-US relations are complex, he enjoys a warm personal relationship with Hu Jintao that enables them to sit in private and talk about things that matter to him.
He hopes that through frequent exchange of top-level visits, the two sides can promote a bilateral relationship by seeking more common ground and eliminating existing differences.
"We don't always agree with China, of course. It's a complex relationship, but it's one in which, my judgment is best to be in a position where we can dialogue and discuss things in order to keep relations on keel, keep peace in that part of the world," Bush Said.
The US President also expressed hope that the two nations will continue working toward fair trade and that the US will strengthen cooperation with China on energy technologies.
Hu Jintao will visit the the US later this year.
