font size

Tanzania will soon have its own version of development agencies aimed at promoting agriculture, mining and fishery in the east African country, local media reported on Friday.

The Tanzania Sectoral Development Agency will also focus on such development areas as construction, transport, telecommunications, forestry, health, energy, technology, tourism, property, finance, trade and services, according to the chairman of the soon-to-be agency.

Arnold van Graan said that his institution, when launched next month would seek to enhance capacities of existing businesses and the establishment of new ones and to offer effective support to local organizations in accessing international finance, innovative technology, information and counseling.

The agency will seek to empower local organizations in the private and public sectors with high quality business support services, said van Graan.
