    Panda couple spend Spring Festival in Thailand

    Giant pandas Chuang Chuang (male) and Lin Hui (female) eat bamboo in the Chiang Mai Zoo of Chiang Mai, Thailand, Jan. 28, 2006. The giant panda couple was sent here from China's Sichuan Province on Oct. 12, 2003, and they "married" each other on Nov. 9, 2005. They will spend another Spring Festival here in Thailand.

    Homecoming delayed by heavy fog

    Crowds of passengers are seen on the square at the Zhongyangmen Long Distance Bus Station in Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province, on Jan. 27, 2006, the Chinese Lunar New Year's Eve. A heavy fog hit the city on Saturday, leaving several expressways closed and causing traffic inconvenience.

President Hu was in Yan'an on Jan. 27-28 to greet with local people the Chinese traditional Spring Festival, or the lunar New Year which starts from Jan. 29. Yan'an was a holy place of the Chinese revolution led by the Chinese Communist Party in 1930s-40s.
