Musheer al-Masri, spokesman of the parliamentary election winner Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), said Sunday that the movement is keeping contacts with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas.
Hamas is contacting with Abbas in an effort to hold a meeting with him in Gaza soon, said al-Masri, who is also a new parliament member.
Abbas assured on being adherent to the political partnership through allowing a democratic election process, al-Masri said, adding "we insisted to hold it on its time and president Abbas also is adherent to an agreement on a united strategy."
As to the new cabinet, al-Masri said that Hamas is on the way of cabinet making, but stressing that a cabinet could not be formed in a day.
"Hamas will form the cabinet as soon as possible to start its role," he asserted.
Meanwhile, the Hamas spokesman disclosed that the talks with all the Palestinian factions, especially the mainstream Fatah movement, will be held soon.
He said that the new cabinet dominated by Hamas welcome the partnership from other factions, stressing that "if not we will stay brothers on the ground."
When asked whether the Palestinian Presidency would be the supreme authority of the security apparatus, al-Masri said he will not disagree on anything, but "the law is the ruler".
Palestinian security sources revealed that President Mahmoud Abbas intended to prevent Islamic Hamas from carrying out any steps concerning the security apparatuses.
Security apparatuses will directly take orders from Abbas but not the new cabinet, said the sources, adding it was followed the convention in the era of late leader Yasser Arafat.
