Cuba, Venezuela send aid to flood-hit Bolivia
font size

Both Cuba and Venezuela have sent aid including medicines, foods, drinking water, tools and blankets to flood-hit Bolivia, responding to that country's call for international help.

A Cuban Airlines plane left Havana on Wednesday morning for Bolivia, carrying 15.7 tons of medicines.

Bolvia has been suffering from intense rains, which have caused severe flooding in seven of the country's nine departments, killing 13 people and leaving hundreds homeless.

In Venezuela, Antonio Rivero, head of the country's civil protection and national disaster agency, said Venezuela had sent 10 tons of aid, including medicines, foods, drinking water, tools and blankets to the country. Doctors, engineers and communication specialists will travel to Bolivia alongside the equipment.
