Angolan president inaugurates hospital constructed with Chinese aid

Luanda General Hospital, built in Angolan capital of Luanda, with Chinese government aid and constructed by a Chinese company, was inaugurated on Friday in a ceremony presided over by Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos.

With a capacity to hospitalize 100 patients, the institution was built and equipped with the fund from the Chinese government, estimated at 8 million U.S. dollars. The two-story hospital covers an area of 800,000 sq.m. in a five-hectare plot.

The medical ward will have specialties such as otolaryngology, dermatology, pediatrics, neurology, ophthalmology, physiotherapy, among others.

The construction works lasted 15 months and was constructed by the China National Overseas Engineering Corporation.
