SW China province develops winter tourism
font size

Southwest China's Sichuan Province has launched a series of new tourism promotion programs to take advantage of its unique winter landscapes.

Dozens of new routes have been created through forest parks, nature reserves and ethnic villages across the region, including the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area, Huanglong Valley, Mount E'mei and Xiling Mountain.

Some international travel agencies have already signed cooperative agreements with the scenic spots to develop further winter programs.

Located in China's southwestern mountainous region, Sichuan boasts four months of snow every year, tempting tourists with snow-covered mountains, frozen waterfalls, glaciers and hot springs.

The province has also held a number of special tourist events in recent years such as the Southwest China Ice-Snow Tourist Festival and the Forum on Wintertime Tourism, which attracted travel agencies and flocks of tourists from around the world.
