Chinese diplomats to follow conditions of wounded in Egypt
font size

Chinese diplomats in Egypt will continuously follow the conditions of the wounded in Tuesday's coach crash, Chinese Ambassador Wu Sike said on Saturday.

Wu's remarks came at a meeting with a working team helping Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR)'s tourists involved in the crash accident.

A tourist bus carrying a 43-member tourist group from HKSAR crashed off a road and overturned upside down shortly after leaving the Red Sea resort of Hurghada last Tuesday, leaving 14 people killed and about 30 others injured.

The Chinese leadership has attached great importance to the accident. An emergency group set up by the embassy rushed to the accident site to convey solicitude to the injured. The Egyptian side also rendered massive support for the treatment of the wounded, Wu said.

Wu also expressed appreciation over the performance of the working team which consists of six immigration officers and medical staff from HKSAR.
