font size

The General Administration of Customs declared that China's bilateral trade with its six largest trading partners all topped 100 billion USD in 2005. Its trade with Republic of Korea exceeded 100 billion USD for the first time.

The imports from ROK and ASEAN grew faster than the overall growth. The 76.8 billion USD of imports from ROK stand for a rise of 23.4 percent, which is 5.8 percentage points higher than the overall imports. Thus ROK has become China's second largest source of imports, leaping forward 3 places from the last year.

The third largest source of imports is ASEAN which exported 75 billion USD to China last year, climbing 19.1 percent.

The European Union remains the largest trading partner of China. The bilateral trade reached 271.31 USD in 2005, surging 22.6 percent. It is followed by the US which made 211.63 billion USD of deals with China last year, up 24.8 percent. As the third largest, Japan had 184.45 billion USD of trade with China in 2005, up 9.9 percent.
