Security man killed, 4 injured in ambush far-western NepalAt least one security personnel was killed and four others injured Monday in an ambush planted by the anti-government guerrillas in far western Nepal, Kanchanpur district police officer confirmed here. "One Armed Policeman was killed and four others injured when a security team was caught in the guerrillas ambush at about 8:30 local time (0245 GMT) at Daigi village area in Kanchanpur district, some 800 km west of Kathmandu," an official at District Police Office said on condition of anonymity. "The team from local Saleshwari Defense Unit of the security force had gone to clear the Mahendra Highway, the East-West highway of Nepal, which had been blocked by the guerrillas," the official said, adding, "the security personnel was killed on the spot in an explosion while clearing the ambush."
