font size

China's railway network transported a total of 82.47 million passengers nationwide between Jan. 14 and Feb. 5 around the Spring Festival period.

The figure is 5.89 million more than that in last year's Spring Festival transport period, according to the Ministry of Railways.

Spring Festival, or Chinese Lunar New Year, is a time for family reunions as millions of people move around to visit their relatives and friends.

The number of people traveling in and out of the country during the holiday period has also kept on rise.
